Fine Grind is finely ground and ideal for everyday use, while Natural Grind is coarser, perfect for cooking and suitable for a salt mill.
Both contain the same 90+ minerals, only the structure differs.
Baja Gold is an unrefined and additive-free sea salt from the Sea of Cortez. It is naturally harvested and naturally contains a broad spectrum of minerals and trace elements (90+), including minerals often less common in modern diets.
Thanks to this rich composition, it is often regarded as one of the most complete and purest sea salts currently available. It has a milder, less sharp salty taste than standard table salt. It contains, on average, approximately 20–25% less sodium chloride than standard table salt, which results in a milder taste and helps to reduce your sodium intake.
A lower sodium intake aligns with general guidelines for a healthy lifestyle.
This sea salt is suitable for daily use, whether for cooking, at the table, or in your drinking water for extra hydration.

Pay attention to moisture content
Because Baja Gold is naturally harvested, it does contain a small amount of moisture. This can make it less likely to sprinkle well in salt shakers. If this happens, it’s best to add salt by hand. Baja Gold also offers an adjustable grinder and a larger grit size, perfect for grinders (look for our Grinder Refill ).

FAQs
Baja Gold Mineral Sea Salt can be used as a replacement for all of your current salt usage. It has a slightly richer flavor profile, so you may actually need less Baja Gold compared to traditional table salt.
Due to the natural mineral moisture content of Baja Gold, you may find that the salt does not spread well when using traditional salt shakers. If this is the case, we recommend using the salt by hand.
We have also recently introduced an adjustable grinder and a coarser grit size suitable for use in your own grinder. These can provide a similar experience to a traditional salt shaker. Enjoy!
Baja Gold has an indefinite shelf life when stored in a covered container and protected from moisture.
Baja Gold is naturally hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water from the air. When this happens, the salt grains dissolve slightly and stick together. Additionally, Baja Gold retains more moisture during our harvesting process than salts that are artificially heated or dried.
This hygroscopic property is the reason why many salt manufacturers add anti-caking or anti-flow agents, but this is not done at Baja Gold. We believe in preserving the purity and mineral balance of our natural sea salt.
Don't worry, any lumps can easily be broken up by hand. The salt remains perfectly usable and rich in minerals. Enjoy!
Short answer: Yes. Baja Gold contains minerals and trace elements that can be extremely beneficial to soil health and plant growth. Baja Gold is produced in a food safe facility with a greater focus on quality and consistency, as it is primarily intended for human consumption.
